What are the basics / beginners / idiots guide to Flash Action Script 3.0 / CS5?

I have been trying to create a website on CS5/Flash/Action Script 3.0 for 2 days and i cannot get the buttons to assign to the pages, or the "test movie" (site) side of things to stop looping. I'm following a YouTube guide with pasted code, but it just ends up the same. What i think i need is literally a beginners guide/site or something because everything i've looked at thus far seems to assume you've used Flash for years and know just where to pick up. Please help!
