My manager has become a pain?

My Team Lead recently got promoted and he is now my Manager. After his promotion he has started acting weirdly. He is trying to have full control on me. Interferes in my work. Tries to show that he knows more and insults me publicly and on emails. I ma not a rookie and have an exp of around 5 years. I was not well last week and had informed the team that i would not be available in office. Still he sent an email to me keeping whole team in loop on very day stating that we are behind target and everything needs to be completed soon. I don't know whats he up to. Please advice
