I'd have written your question much the way you have and despair at the proposal to sell the prime sites off, I can't imagine any private company buying anything that isn't profitable. It's those profits that subsidise the rest of Forestry Commission land, how will they be subsidised now? It's the same old Tories, sell off the public owned institutions to benefit their wealthy backers and rip apart what little we have left. The ruling classes are back in control of the Tory party in force and are behaving like their Norman ancestors have done for the past 1000 years, take what's valuable to everyone else's expense. I notice the Scots and the Welsh will have none of it. Oh to be in England, if only we were allowed to share it.
